WESTMONT, Calif., Feb. 25 (KNN) — The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives are currently investigating two separate homicides a day apart at the same location in Westmont that took the life of an adult male on Sunday, Feb. 23, in a shooting around 8 p.m. in the 1200 block of West 87th Street, and an adult female a day later.

Detectives released very little information regarding the shooting of the male victim. Then, late Monday evening, Feb. 24, shortly before 9:30 p.m., detectives were back at the same location, and this time, the victim was a Black adult female.
When deputies responded to the location, they found the woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital by the Los Angeles City Fire Department, where she was pronounced deceased, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Her age and identity have not been revealed at this time.
There was a second victim at the scene, a Black adult male who was shot in the foot and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the LASD via a press release of the incident, the adult male suspect was last seen behind the location, fleeing on foot in an unknown direction.
Even though these fatal shootings occurred at the same location, the LASD Homicide Bureau detectives have not determined at this time if they are related. Detectives are working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the shootings and to locate the suspect(s).
There is no further information.
