Sylmar, Los Angeles, CA: A driver of a vehicle was extricated by the Los Angeles Fire Department after rear-ending a big rig traveling Southbound I-5 Freeway at Roxford off-ramp in the Sylmar neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles.

The collision was reported at 2:15 a.m. Sunday, Apr. 17, 2022. California Highway Patrol from West Valley responded to the scene along with LAFD Urban Search and Rescue crews.
The driver was extricated 20 minutes later with visible injuries to his face then transported by LAFD firefighter/paramedics to a local hospital.
The big rig brakes broke during the collision per CHP and the off-ramp was shut down while officers performed their investigation for an unknown duration of time.
No injuries were reported to the driver of the big rig.
