Firefighters Douse Contents Fire at Cannabis Dispensary in Downtown Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 14 (KNN) — The Los Angeles Fire Department attacked a fire in an apparent legal cannabis dispensary early Thursday morning in the downtown area of Los Angeles.

LAFD firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 1:38 a.m. on the 600 block of South Imperial Street where arriving crews located a 100′ x 100′ one-story commercial building with light smoke observed.

First arriving 40 firefighters extinguished the fire in 31 minutes, reported the LAFD. The contents fire was deep within a secured and highly compartmentalized building, which according to preliminary information is a legal cannabis dispensary.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Arson investigators were requested to the scene.
