SYLMAR, LOS ANGELES, Sept. 7 (KNN) – A pedestrian was struck and pronounced dead at the scene on the Westbound 210 Freeway, north of Yarnell Street in Sylmar on Sunday evening.

Emergency responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol were dispatched shortly after the incident occurred around 7:44 p.m.
The CHP requested a Sig Alert later in the evening, resulting in the shutdown of three lanes of traffic for an undetermined duration.
A silver Ford truck was found pulled over on the right-hand shoulder, although it remains unclear if the vehicle was involved in the collision.
A stroller and several personal belongings were also discovered on the freeway.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
